About the School

Nanjing University is located in the historic capital of Jinling, renowned for its natural beauty and strategic significance. As a prestigious institution with a rich heritage spanning over a century, its origins trace back to the Sanjiang Normal School established in 1902. Throughout its history, the university has undergone several name changes, including Jiangli Normal School, Nanjing Higher Normal School, National Southeastern University, National Fourth Sun Yat-sen University, National Central University, and National Nanjing University, finally adopting its current name in 1950.
